My name is Robert. I’m a writer, musician, and educator. I love writing poetry. And I love playing music. I currently live on the west coast, but I grew up in Texas. My ancestors settled there seven generations ago. As part of my own healing journey I’ve learned a lot about their history, and by extension my own.

I’ve sat around a lot of fires. And heard a lot of wisdom at the fireside. I know how to listen. One of the most important things I picked up while sitting at a fireside is that the stories we tell ourselves sound different when spoken aloud. And with the help of a curious and compassionate audience, and a little Self-Energy, our stories can start to turn from tragedy to triumph, from fear to courage, and from limitation to liberation.
